Over 35 years experience in the pharma industry with leading roles at both big pharma and successful startups, and a proven senior executive track record in branded, generic, biopharmaceutical, mature product, specialty/rare diseases, managed care/reimbursement and healthcare IT. Skills and experience span strategy development, operational excellence, commercial, R&D, pipeline management, regulatory, manufacturing, quality, corporate compliance, investor/media relations, public affairs, intellectual property, litigation, M&A, business development and board governance. 


As founder and CEO of Vertice Pharma from 2015-2021, built a high growth branded and generic products company specialty pharmaceutical business. Built a fast-growing specialty pharmaceuticals business as COO of Endo Pharmaceuticals from 2013-2015. As CEO of Sandoz North America from 2010-2013, led it’s rise to one of the largest generics companies in the world. Held leadership roles at Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, and others. 


Board member of Make-a-Wish Foundation, NJ. Previous boartd member of Tyme Technologies (TYME: NASDAQ) and HLS Therapeutics (HLS: TSX). Bachelor’s from University of Rochester and MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

George Lauro

25 years as a venture capitalist, investment banker and board executive funding & building technology companies. Has been Board Director at 7 public and 26 private companies. Was Managing Director & Partner at Wasserstein Perella, a leading Wall Street private equity & leveraged buyout firm and Partner at US Equity Partners L.P. Ran Wasserstein Perella's west coast VC/LBO office Palo Alto.  Founding Partner of GeneWorx Capital, a boutique venture development firm that has advised 25+ early-stage life science companies with strategy, corporate development, and capital raising.


Built several tech companies from prototype stage to high-value exit (M&A/IPO). Raised $250M VC/PE financing for portfolio companies. Completed M&A deals exceeding $2B in value. Was IBM's Managing Director of Tech Commercialization at World HQ and led a team that launched IBM spinouts from Watson Research Lab. 


Began his career as an MIT engineer developing inertial guidance systems for strategic missiles  at Draper Lab and MIT Aero/Astro Dept.  Attended Brown (BSEE), The Wharton School (MBA) and MIT (grad studies in aeronautical engineering). 23 patents awarded for inventions in inertial guidance, advanced materials and wireless technologies.

William Kazman

MIT electrical engineer and entrepreneur with over 30 years of company-building experience across the tech and life science sectors. Has a history of innovations in telemedicine, connected care, Internet-of-Things, cloud networking, AI, and embedded control. Has a successful track record of building high-growth companies including founder of four companies (telemedicine company and others) and senior executive at seven early-stage companies (President of next-gen diagnostics platform company and others).   Direct operating and management experience in all aspects of company building from R&D to sales, licensing and strategic partnerships including creative, non-dilutive financing deals built on licensing, R&D collaboration, and revenue opportunities. Founding Partner of GeneWorx Capital, a boutique venture development firm that has advised 25+ early-stage life science companies with strategy, corporate development, and capital raising.

Senior Vice President
Darren Miller

Biomedical engineer with expansive software architecture and development skills spanning Internet-of-Things through high performance, big data enterprise systems. Has over 20 years of leadership and hands-on experience in software and enterprise architecture (SOA), big data/data warehousing/data integration/ETL, embedded software development (real-time control, sensors, embedded OS), and cloud platforms (AWS IoT, Azure, others). At Ab Initio, led a 200+ professional services team working on enterprise-scale database and software systems for large health insurers and integrated delivery networks.


Holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins, an MS in Electrical Engineering from University of Michigan, and an MS in Biomedical Engineering from University of Michigan. Lead software mentor for award-winning FIRST robotics team that has advanced to and competed in the world championships every year during his seven-year tenure.
